- Sow the seeds on the surface of moist compost and lightly cover with vermiculite.
- Place in a warm area at a constant temperature of 22c.
- Germination is improved when the night temperature is dropped to 15-18c.
- The seeds will germinate in 14-28 days but can be erratic.
- If the seeds haven’t germinated, keep at a temperature of 10c for one week before putting it back to 22c.
- Once the seedlings are 5-7cm, transplant into individual pots.
- Gradually acclimatise the plants to cooler conditions.
- Plant out once the risk of frost has passed in their final position, 60cm apart.
