Growing Instructions

  1. Plant between September-mid December, before the ground freezes. 
  2. Loosen the soil to a depth of around 30cm and mix in organic matter to improve the drainage and soil quality. 
  3. Use a hand trowel or bulb planter and dig a hole which is 30cm deep. 
  4. Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. 
  5. Gently cover the bulb and lightly compress the soil.

Light: Full sun or partial shade
Flowering Time: April-May

Plant in well-drained soil.
The bulbs are known to be quite fragile, so plant carefully on their side to avoid moisture build up and prevent rotting.
Deadhead regularly to encourage new growth.
Leave the foliage to naturally die back to allow the bulb to restore its energy for next year’s blooms.
