Betony (Stachys officinalis)

An attractive native wildflower/herb (also known as bishops wort), found in wild flower meadows, hedgerows and equally at home in the garden border.

It is a slow growing perennial with attractive 30-40cm spikes of rich pink-mauve flowers that are very attractive to bees and insects over long flowering period.

Always best grown in clumps for the best effect or alongside other meadow natives such as Oxeye daisies, Greater Knapweed, Meadow Cranesbills, Ladies Bedstraw and Dropwort.
