WILLOW CROSSLEY

Mexican Sunflower 'Torch'

£3.50

Don’t miss out on this lesser-known Mexican sunflower. It is my favourite shade of orange, so richly tangerine it is almost scarlet. Easy to grow and flowering until the frosts, tithonia loves the heat, so plant it somewhere it will thrive in hot weather like against a south-facing wall or hedge.

How to Grow

Sowing and Growing

  1. Sow undercover at 13-18C onto moist compost.
  2. Give a light covering of soil
  3. Acclimatise in the day outside for a week or so
  4. Plant outside once the danger of frost has passed

Easy to grow on in well-drained soil. Keep cutting the flowers and it will produce more. Stake the plants if in a windy area or if they become very tall.

Arranging

Just this tiny pop of tangerine will transform and lift an arrangement of dark pinks and purples.
