- Plant between October-November, before the ground freezes. Â
- Choose a position in full sun with well-drained soil. Â
- If the soil is heavy, loosen it to a depth of around 20cm. Â
- Mix in organic matter to improve drainage and soil quality. Â
- Add a handful of grit or coarse sand to the planting hole to aid drainage. Â
- Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. Â
- Gently cover the bulb and lightly compress the soil. Â
- If the soil is very dry, water lightly after planting. Â
- Don’t water again until spring unless the weather is warm and dry. Â
- Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.Â
