Sweet Pea ‘Winter Sunshine Light Blue’ is a multiflora Spencer variety producing pale blue blooms on long, heavy stems. Bred for autumn sowing and very early flowering, it has an excellent vase life and is ideal for cutting.

  1. Sow between September-October under glass for early flowering.
  2. Use deep pots or root trainers to allow the roots to develop properly.
  3. Sow seeds around 1-2cm deep in good-quality seed compost.
  4. Water lightly after sowing and keep the compost moist but not waterlogged.
  5. Grow on in a cool greenhouse, cold frame, or unheated glasshouse over winter.
  6. Pinch out the growing tips once plants have developed a few pairs of leaves to encourage stronger, bushier growth.
  7. Provide support for the plants to climb e.g. canes or netting.
  8. Water regularly during active growth, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
  9. Feed during the growing season to support strong stems and continuous flowering.
  10. Pick flowers regularly and remove faded blooms to encourage further flowering.
