This Chinese winter radish was introduced to Europe by Jesuit missionaries in 1850. It measures around 6-8 inches long by 2 inches in width. This tapering radish has carmine rose-coloured skin and crisp, pungent flesh and produces from mid-summer to early winter with any remaining radishes storing well in sand late into winter.
These seeds are excellent for sprouting. They can be planted in the spring for summer eating or planted in autumn for storage. The young leaves can also be used in salads or for stir frying. Keeps well. 55 days from germination to harvest.
