- Sow directly outdoors from April-June in a well-prepared seedbed.
- Sow the seeds on the surface of well-prepared soil and lightly cover.
- Keep consistently moist until seedlings emerge.
- Seeds will usually germinate within 14-28 days.
- Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 10-15 cm apart.
- Water regularly until established, but avoid waterlogging.
- Cut back after the first flush of flowers to encourage further blooming.
Linum perenne (Blue Flax) is a perennial with delicate sky-blue flowers held on slender stems. Ideal for sunny borders and naturalistic planting, it forms small clumps and flowers from midsummer into autumn.
