Fritillaria meleagris ‘Plum’ produces bell-shaped flowers in rich plum shades with a distinctive chequered pattern. Ideal for naturalising, it thrives in borders, meadows and pairs beautifully with Camassia quamash.

Plant between September-mid December, before the ground freezes.
If the soil is heavy clay, loosen it to a depth of around 10cm and mix in organic matter to improve the drainage and soil quality.
Use a hand trowel or bulb planter and dig a hole which is 30cm deep.
Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards.
Gently cover the bulb and lightly compress the soil.
