Crocus Barr’s Purple – Cultivation Advice

  • Plant between September-October, before the ground freezes.
  • If the soil is heavy clay, loosen it to a depth of around 10cm and mix in organic matter to improve the drainage and soil quality.
  • Use a hand trowel or bulb planter and dig a hole which is around 2-3 times the depth of the bulb.
  • Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards.
  • Gently cover the bulb and lightly compress the soil.

(If not planted immediately, open bag and spread somewhere cool and dry to prevent the bulbs sweating and rotting)
