- Sow the seeds indoors between March and May, or September and November.
- Use trays filled with moist, free‑draining seed compost.
- Scatter the seeds on the surface and press them in gently.
- Cover very lightly with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite.
- Keep in a heated propagator at 18-20c until seedlings appear.
- Germination usually takes 7-10 days.
- When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual small pots.
- Harden off the young plants gradually before planting outdoors after the last frost.
- Cut back spent flowers to encourage a second flowering.
