- For early seedling plants, start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last spring frost.
- Seeds benefit from being chilled overnight prior to sowing.
- Can be sown directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
- Barely cover seeds with 1/16 inch of fine soil.
- When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 25 to 30 cm apart. Replant thinned plants.
- The plants prefer a well-drained soil in a sunny location.
- In milder areas the plants will over-winter and flower again.
