- Plant between September-November, before the ground freezes.
- Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil.
- If the soil is heavy, loosen it to a depth of around 10cm.
- Mix in organic matter to improve drainage and soil quality.
- Add a handful of grit or coarse sand to the planting hole to aid drainage.
- Plant narcissi bulbs around 10-15cm deep.
- Plant tulip bulbs around 15-20cm deep.
- Place each bulb with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Space the bulbs around 10-15cm apart, close enough for a full display but not touching.
- Gently cover the bulbs and lightly compress the soil.
- If the soil is very dry, water lightly after planting.
- Don’t water again until spring unless the weather is warm and dry.
- Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
