Sowing and Growing

• Sow indoors in autumn for planting out in the spring
• Or sow outside from March
• Sow into tall pots or Rootrainers, sweet peas have long roots and prefer a deep pot
• Keep moist but not too damp
• Watch out for mice as they love eating sweet pea seed
• Pinch out the tips of the seedling when there are 4 pairs of leaves

Harden them off outside before planting and avoid frosts. Sweet peas need a support to grow up. Tie the seedlings in as they grow. Keep picking to prolong the flowering season.

Arranging

Mass these in brightly coloured cups and jugs. Create a contrast of colours or bask in the blue.
