1. Sow directly outdoors between March and May, 12mm deep.
2. Alternatively, sow seeds indoors in individual pots.
3. This allows for faster germination and earlier flowering.
4. Maintain a temperature of 18–23c. Seeds typically germinate in 14-21 days.
5. Gradually acclimatise the seedlings to outdoor conditions before planting out, after the risk of frost has passed.
6. Protect young seedlings from slugs and snails, especially during early growth.
7. Provide support if needed, staking the stems to keep plants upright.
