- Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to May in well-drained soil.
- Scatter seeds on the surface and press lightly into the soil or lightly cover.
- The seeds need light to germinate.
- Germination usually takes 10-20 days at 15-20c and can be erratic.
- Thin seedlings to 20cm apart once large enough to handle.
- Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil.
- Water lightly to keep soil moist until established but avoid waterlogging.
- Deadhead spent flowers to encourage prolonged blooming.
- Make succession sowings every 2–3 weeks for a continuous display.
