- Sow indoors from March-April and lightly cover with compost.
- Alternatively, sow directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed in May.
- The seeds will benefit from being kept in the dark until germination.
- Germination will occur between 5-10 days at a temperature of 18-22c.
- Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting out.
- When seedlings are 2-3 inches high, transplant outside.
- Plant in a sunny location, in well-drained soil at a distance of 20-30cm apart.
- Leave the last flowers on the plant and these will self-seed for next year.
