Bean 1500 Year Cave Bean

£1.39

Bean ‘1500 Year Old Cave’ is a remarkable heirloom variety believed to have originated from an ancient Anasazi cave dwelling site. The original seeds were discovered in a sealed clay pot and, when carbon-dated, were found to be around 1,500 years old.

This productive climbing bean produces attractive seeds patterned in maroon and brown markings reminiscent of cow print. It grows well in most soils and yields tender pods that can be harvested young as green beans or left to mature and dry for later use.
