Green Manure White Mustard

White Mustard is a fast-growing green manure that supplies the soil with organic matter, improving the fertility and structure of the soil. Growing up to 1 meter tall, it also suppresses weed growth when the area is not in use. This variety can also be sown indoors and harvested within a week – great for adding to sandwiches and salad dishes.

Growing Instructions

Cultivate the topsoil to around 5cm.
Sow directly outside on a prepared bed and lightly cover.
Germination will usually occur within 7 days.
Dig in the plants any time from when they are 3 to 4 weeks old until just before they flower.
Avoid planting in rotation with brassicas due to susceptibility to clubroot disease.
