Growing Advice – Rudbeckia Hirta – Sahara
- Start the seeds indoors between March-April.
 - Sow the seeds on the surface of moist compost and lightly cover
 - Place in a heated propagator at a constant temperature of 20-25c.
 - If the seeds don’t germinate, cold stratify them for 4 weeks before placing them back in a propagator.
 - The seeds will germinate in 10-21 days.
 - Once the seedlings are 5-7cm, transplant into individual pots.
 - Gradually acclimatise the plants to cooler conditions.
 - When the seedlings have formed 2-3 pairs of leaves, pinch out the tips.
 - Plant out once the risk of frost has passed (May-June).
 - Deadhead the plants regularly to encourage an extended flowering period.
