History

Our story started 25yrs ago, when we were nuturing our own smallholding

Frustrated with the prices, service and limited varieties available, we decided to find another way. We started sourcing seeds directly for ourselves, and then an ever-growing band of fellow smallholders and friends.

Since then, we’re proud to have blossomed into one of the UK’s leading online seed sellers,  at the heart we are still a small family run business, looking to support anyone who wants to grow from seed.

Careful selection

We offer over 2000 varieties of carefully picked vegetables, flowers and herbs, and have travelled the world to source from the highest quality commerical growers. We continue to add to our range as new varieties become available so hope you will find what you are looking for

Quality

Our seeds are stored in climatically controlled conditions and regularly tested for germination to ensure the highest viability.

In addition we grow every variety we offer in our own gardens and trial grounds. This allows us to not only check they grow to type but also thrive in our climate and ultimately deliver a great plant be it a flower to brighten the garden or a tasty vegetable for the table.

Certification

We would like to thank DEFRA (now APHA) and their inspectors who have provided much advice, support and ensured our structure; records, quality control, testing and procedures are of the highest seed industry standards.

We are DEFRA (APHA) registered and inspected annually.

We are licensed and inspected annual by the "Soil association" to ensure all our certified Organic seeds fully comply with the strict EU BIO regulations and all our growers have been fully inspected and approved by National organic licensing authorities.
